Care Farm & Work-Based Learning
OLIVERS HILL FARM of East Sussex
Experiential,
therapeutic, country
based education.
Welcome the Olivers Hill Care Farm Website
Creating an environment that promotes ideal working conditions for young people who want to learn in a hands-on way as well as for individuals who want to enjoy the therapeutic nature of the farm, its surroundings and its animals takes an enormous amount of work, commitment and imagination. With Brian Thompson at the helm, Olivers Hill Farm has achieved the transformation that enables it to offer a bespoke educational package, or an animal-centred therapeutic experience, through coupling farm life with teacher skills and staff experienced in working with young people - all set against the backdrop of the stunning Sussex countryside.
It's hands on. The animals won't feed themselves!
We have courses for young people who struggle in a classroom environment and therapeutic workshops for people with disabilities. Why not come along and see for yourself all the benefits and opportunities the farm and its animals have to offer.
Introducing... Ted.
This is one of the young people we work with. He regularly attends lessons at Olivers Hill Farm. Here he introduces Ted, a pony taken in at the farm and cared for by the farm and the young people who visit.
Appropriate, fun education and learning.
From courses to support your work in the National Curriculum to a post 16 BTEC course; Olivers Hill Farm provides real hands on learning, in a real working environment, so bring your wellies!
